Gratitude is the greatest of virtues, and that is why we must celebrate Thanksgiving Day, being aware of all the gifts that are given to us every day.

“Expressing gratitude is courteous and honorable, acting with gratitude is generous and noble; but to always live with gratitude in the heart is to touch the sky.”

Thomas S. Monson.

When you download a design file from the Library, it automatically downloads in SVG, Ai, DXF, Studio3, and Webp formats.

  • Assembly process.

In this tutorial, we will learn and have fun at every step, so if you are new to this world I suggest you stick to the instructions to get a wonderful project.

Materials and Accessories

*You can replace this material with EVA foam or felt according to your preferences.

**Choose the base for the wreath in the material you want or have available, it can be metallic or in expanded polystyrene, you can even make it yourself by cutting a cardboard ring.

Arrange the Design in Silhouette Studio

Step 1: Upload the Thanksgiving Wreath Design Template

Download the design file to a folder on your PC, then open the Silhouette Studio program and click the “File” button in the top panel, then click “Open.”

In the dialog box, browse the folder in which you stored the design and double-click the file to open it in the Silhouette design software.

Step 2: Organize the design for the cut

In the central section of the design area, you will find the elements ready to be ungrouped and cut.

In the design area you will find the following pieces:

  • The miniature wreath design at the top left

  • The design of the pennant with the two tabs that generate depth

  • The design of the word “Thankful”

  • The outlines of the leaves with 16 different design options.

You must adjust the size of the design before ungrouping the elements based on the size of the base for the wreath.

My wreath has a diameter of 11 in (27.9 cm).

Given the measurement of my wreath, I am going to adjust the size of the pennant before ungrouping it so that it is 11 in (27.9 cm) wide.

Note: You must adjust the size of the design before ungrouping the elements to prevent them from losing their proportions.

Once the size of the pennant has been adjusted, you must select it, left-click, and click “Ungroup”.

You must separate the word “Thankful” from the pennant and the tabs that generate depth.

Adjust the size of the leaves according to the size of your wreath. You can use all the designs or choose the ones you like the most. Cut sheets of different sizes, I adjusted my sheets to measure from 3 to 5 in (7.6 x 12.7 cm).

Cutting process

Step 1: Select the elements, materials, tools, and cut settings for each element

You must drag out of the design area the elements that you do not want to cut yet and leave only the element that you are going to cut. I am going to start with the flag but you can do it in any order.

To cut this element you must select a light cardstock, preferably beige, put it on the cutting mat, and load the mat into the machine with the adhered material.

Insert the AutoBlade or Automatic Blade into carriage 1 of the machine.

Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.

I recommend to activate the line segment overcut.

Now you are ready to cut the first piece!

Note: I recommend cutting two units of this element to join them and generate greater firmness.

Now continue with the second element of the banner, the word “Thankful”. You must bring it to the design area.

To cut this element you must select a maroon or brown cardstock and put it on the cutting mat, load the mat into the machine with the added material.

Insert the AutoBlade or Automatic Blade into carriage 1 of the machine.

Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.

I recommend to activate the line segment overcut.

Everything is ready to make the cut.

You’re doing great, keep going!

Now I suggest you cut the tabs of the banner, you must bring them to the design area, then select them and left-click, in the menu that is displayed click on “ungroup”.

Bring these two elements together to save material.

To cut this element you must select a gold or mustard color cardstock and put it on the cutting mat, load the mat into the machine with the added material.

Insert the AutoBlade or Automatic Blade into carriage 1 of the machine.

Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.

Great, all the elements of the pennant are ready.

Now select each of the leaves, you must bring them to the design area, replicate them in different sizes and then zoom them in to save material in the cut.

Remember to cut the designs that you like the most and adjust them to size according to the base for the wreath.

To cut these elements you must select cardstock in fall colors and pastels, put them on the cutting mat, and load the mat into the machine with the added material.

Insert the AutoBlade or Automatic Blade into carriage 1 of the machine.

Click the “Send” button in the upper right section of the menu and set the cutting options.

Note: Cut 2 to 4 units from each sheet depending on the size of your wreath.

You are doing great, this wreath will look beautiful!

Well, now that you have all the elements cut, all that remains is to carry out the assembly process.

You’re almost done!

Assembly process

Step 1: Using Glue

First glue the elements that make up the pennant, the tabs, and the word “Thankful”, reserve this element once assembled.

Glue the leaves onto the base of the wreath using high-quality glue.

Note: Depending on your tastes or preferences, you can generate a symmetrical and balanced design using the same sheets on each side or an asymmetrical one by gluing sheets of different sizes and designs randomly.

Finally, glue the previously assembled pennant in the central part of the wreath.

I LOVE IT, IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!

Congratulations, your Thanksgiving Wreath is ready!
