Materials and accessories
- Silhouette Cameo 4
- Standard grip adhesive cutting mat
- AutoBlade or 1mm Manual Blade
- Adhesive vinyl: I used black color*
- Artificial and/or paraffin candles**
- Paper or transfer material
- Heat gun****
- Spatula, hook, scraper and ruler (Silhouette accessories)
- Rubber roller

*I chose this color as it goes well with all the items I’m going to customize, but you can replace it with the color that best matches your items.
**You can use natural or artificial candles, in this tutorial I will use both so you can see the differences.
***If you do not have this element you can use a hair dryer.

To make this craft I used an artificial candle, black adhesive vinyl, and transfer material or paper.

Decorate Candles for Halloween: Spiders
This was the cutting setup I used for this design
To make this craft, use two small paraffin candles, black adhesive vinyl, and a heat gun.
When using adhesive vinyl on paraffin candles, you should heat the candles with a heat gun to help the vinyl to adhere.
Tip: In this case, you should not use tape or transfer material to stick the design onto the candle, but rather transfer it with tweezers.
For this type of work, you should avoid designs made up of multiple elements, but preferably in one piece.
Once you adhere the vinyl to the hot paraffin candle, I recommend passing the heat gun again to improve adhesion.
